BUSINESS ANALYST - contract
Our client requires a Business Analyst. This is a contract role in the dynamic Canadian Headquarters of a Fortune 50 multinational corporation with strong logo recognition in suburban GTA.
Responsibilities of the role involve capturing & documenting the business requirements critical to the launch of a major product initiative's website. This entails:
. Business Requirements gathering - capable of facilitating meetings with business stakeholders, documentation of business requirements, walk-through of BRD with business stakeholders for sign off.
. Contribute to the definition of the criteria for testing and development of the Master Test Plan and UAT Execution Test Plan.
. Develop test cases, scenarios and scripts to ensure quality applications/systems changes meet business requirements and technical solution/detailed design documented specifications.
. Execute UAT test scripts and facilitate leading Business Stakeholders through UAT test execution using test tools following the defined testing methodology.
. Analyze results of execution of tests submits results and evidence of success or failure using testing methodology and identified tools for management of test execution, tracking and reporting.
JOB COMPLEXITIES/CHALLENGES:
. Defining the Business Requirements for this website project within a tight timeline for completion to support the launch.
. Following general guidelines and Master Test Strategy, participates in the development of Test Plans, participates in determining the solution to the problem/defect, looking at alternatives and making recommendations for resolution, participates in daily testing issues meeting.
. Creating test scenarios and test scripts across multiple technology platforms including mainframe & open systems which will require end to end integration testing to meet the business requirements encompassing cross-business departments.
. Working independently on assigned area of business analysis and UAT testing and within the QA Team for the assigned project.
Candidate Qualifications:
. Experience with business requirements for website projects is essential.
. Creating/updating of system requirements, including the development and maintenance of business and system use case specifications.
. Demonstrated experience with Business Object Oriented Modeling /UML tools & techniques /Use Case Development.
. Experience working with SOA technologies / Web Services.
. Experience in Gap Analysis / data mapping / business process models / test plans and strategies.
. An ability to prepare User Interface specifications in a web based environment.
. Written Communications--Ability to produce a variety of business and technical documents that demonstrate command of language / clarity of thought / orderliness of presentation.
. Problem Solving--Knowledge of approaches / tools / techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.
. Oral Communications--Ability to express oneself and communicate with others verbally recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language - it includes tone, style and structure.
. Managing Multiple Priorities--Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, assignments or activities. Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.
. Application Testing--Ability to design, plan and execute application test cases and tactics to ensure software quality at all stages of application development.
. Familiarity in working with the following: Web Services / Flash, HTML, XHTML / Java Script / MQ Series, DB2.
. Accuracy/Attention to Detail--Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
