Our client a progressive organization in the Hamilton area has an immediate requirement for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer.  You possess three to five years experience in a Senior Electrical Design Engineering role and thrive in an entrepreneurial work environment. 


Responsibilities:


The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for leading the design activities for advanced digital electronic processors, image processing circuit card assemblies and wire harness assemblies.    


Requirements:


·         Working with the integrated product development team and leading the activities required to design rugged high speed digital and analog circuit card assemblies.


·         Specific duties include the preparation of detailed circuit card assembly product (CCA) requirement specification and CCA design schematics. 


·         Preparation of the CCA design will include performance simulation tasks and VHDL code development.


·         Review of layout design requirements, BMO content, layout design deliverable and supporting prototype manufacture and test activities.


·         Responsibilities also include working with CCA manufacturers and our procurement department to help transition the CCA product to the production phase of the product life.


·         Must be eligible to meet the controller goods program requirement and be able to hold a Canadian Security Clearance.


 


Experience:


·         BASc in Electrical Engineering (preferred). 


·         You have a minimum of 4 to 8 years progressive technical experience in circuit card assembly design plus an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering or the equivalent.  You will also have product development experience in complex digital processor CCA designed for rugged end user applications.


·         Ability to prepare detailed design schematics.


·         You are skilled in schematic capture and simulation analysis.


·         You have experience in CCA layout design and associated design tools.


·         Strong practical experience with Xilinx FPGA's and associated design tools.


·         A strong background in circuit design involving microprocessors, sevo amps, analog filters, wired and wireless data communications, low voltage DC power distribution.


·         OrCAD Capture and OrCAD PCB familiarity, PLD firmware design experience, video interface design experience, digital filters and control systems expertise, man-machine interface design experience.
