ETL DEVELOPER (Cognos)

ETL Data Warehouse Developer

 

Our client requires the services of an advanced Cognos ETL Developer.  We are specifically targeting IBM Cognos (DecisionStream) data manger development experience for this contract  role with a 6-month initial term & strong likelihood of extension.  Work location is in Scarborough, ON.

 

DESIRED  GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

-  Working knowledge of DWH architecture & concepts specific to dimensional data models.

-  Experience developing DWH solutions (development, testing, deployment & support).

-  Understanding of design & analysis methodology + application development process (from both an industry & client perspective).

-  Rock solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

-  University degree or equivalent - Computer Science background strongly preferred.

-  Manufacturing Industry / Cognos 8 experience would be a real asset.

 

REQUIRED TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

-  5-7 years  IBM Cognos (preferDecisionStream)  development experience.

-  Strong data analysis skills.

-  Hands-on experience with data cleansing processes/designs/methodologies.

-  Enterprise-wide experience transferring large amounts of data from one database to another.

-  Database experience in DB2 UDB.

-  SQL programming skills, including stored procedures.

-  UNIX skills, including Korn Shell scripting.

-  Solid understanding of XML.

-  Ability to implement reusable data integration/ETL code in an enterprise data warehouse.
