Afexa Life Sciences Inc is looking for a Financial Analyst for their Corporate office located in Edmonton. Reporting to the Director, Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for the review and accurate entry of all related matters. This position will also support and provide back-up for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Departments.
Duties Include:
· Prepaid and Capital Asset Continuity Schedules
· Assistance with tax reporting
· Data entry for forecasting and budgeting
· Preparation of journal entries
· Assistance with month end working papers (including account reconciliations)
· Preparation of sales tax remittances
· Completion of Stats Canada requirements
· Preparation of bank reconciliations
· Completing vendor set-up and
· Other duties as assigned.
Competencies / Education Required:
Completion or near completion of Post Secondary Education in Accounting with related experience, and with plans to enter the CMA or CGA programs.
- Ability to communicate and interact between multiple departments
- Works well under pressure and can meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
- Strong computer skills with a good understanding of Excel. Experience with Navision software would be considered an asset
- Ability to work in a growing and dynamic environment
- Accurate data entry and review of all related matters and
- General accounting knowledge.
