Status: Appendix D * THIS IS A REPLACEMENT POSITION FOR A BARGAINING UNIT EMPLOYEE.  Terms and conditions of employment are as outlined in the support staff collective agreement.

Payband/Salary Range: Payband F, $ 23.42 (start rate) - $27.15 (4 year rate)

Reports to: Associate Registrar 

Hours per week: 35 hours per week

Effective Date: As soon as possible - 4 month contract


Duties & Responsibilities:


The incumbent is responsible for accepting and admitting full-time and skill program students college-wide as well as admitting and registering credit and non-credit part-time students. 


Responsible for the college-wide administration of all student records from admissions to graduation or withdrawl.  These duties include:



. Analyzing credentials to determine program admission eligibility assisting with the selection process to meet enrolment projections notifying students of their admission decision - acceptance, waitlist or refusal to full-time programs.

. Collecting and depositing both full-time and part-time fees, analyzing student records and providing accurate statistical data for the enrollment audit which determines the amount of college funding to be received from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

. Initiating responses to inquiries from students, staff and the general public, usually as a first contact by providing detailed information on courses and programs.

. Maintaining close liaison with the academic areas regarding students and their records.

. Advising and assisting students with web registration.

. Participating in College Open Houses and Preview Days to assist applicants in choosing Georgian College.

. Assisting in convocations, registration and other ceremonies as required.  This includes:

. Determining graduation eligibility.

. Initiating graduation correspondence to students.

. Determining student's eligibility for awards.

. Assisting with convocation ceremonial duties.

. Providing support for other staff members when needed.



 Qualifications:


. A post-secondary diploma or equivalent in job related work experience, including courses in keyboarding, computers and database management.

. Minimum of two years of increasingly responsible office experience in a multi-task environment with a demonstrated ability to follow a systems approach.

. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with varied client group.

. Good mathematical skills and a logical approach to problem solving.

. Accurate data entry skills and a demonstrated ability to handle systems operations.

. Detail oriented with the ability to work quickly and accurately.

. Strong organizational skills to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.

. Must have patience and understanding when dealing with students.

. Team oriented.

. Knowledge of a Student Information System, preferably Banner is an asset.

. Previous educational admissions / registrarial experience is an asset.

. Bilingual ability (French/English) would be a definite asset.
