Accounting Manager

Responsibilities:


The Accounting Manager's responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:


·         Upload and monitor Construction Budgets and Job Costing in Timberline

·         Coordinate accounting deadlines and prepare Month End and Year End financial reports in a timely, accurate and effective manner in accordance with established accounting standards and regulatory requirements

·         Review or perform monthly data integrity checks and balancing reports for GL, AR, AP, correcting where required

·         Participate in daily maintenance of GL, AR, AP and data integrity as it relates to general and cost accounting

·         Prepare monthly statements as well as variance analysis of actual results to budget and forecast

·         Reviews bank/account reconciliations on a monthly basis

·         Government Remittances including GST Returns

·         Prepare and distribute monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, reconciliations, cash flow reports and supplemental information to management and bonding and insurance companies

·         Trains, supervises and provides technical assistance to AP and AR staff

·         Participate in various business related projects as directed

·         Identify and improve internal controls and processes whenever possible

 


Qualifications:


Applicants must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:


·         Professional accounting designation or equivalent work experience

·         4 or more years Accounting experience - Full Cycle Accounting with Financial Statement preparation experience

·         Construction and Timberline Accounting Experience an asset

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Superior problem solving, decision-making, ethical and interpersonal skills

·         Strong analytical and administrative skills

·         Exceptional attention to detail

·         Strong work ethic and personal drive to exceed expectations

·         Proficiency in MS Office and ability to grasp new technologies quickly

·         Ability to supervise clerical and professional personnel

·         Comfortable working in a past-paced complex environment with competing priorities
