This global software company designs highly complex financial applications that are used by some of the top institutions in the world. The opportunity allows one to not only practice software design and development but to also gain an understanding of the world markets and trading systems.
This is a full-time/permanent position in Toronto and some of the main responsibilities will include:
- Trouble shooting
- Second and third level support
- Issue logging and prioritizing
- Code debugging
- Attending client meetings and resolving issues over the phone
Required skills:
- Strong knowledge/experience using C++ in a UNIX environment
- University Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline
- Experience providing technical support and interfacing with the clients both over the phone and in person
- Experience with shell scripts and other UNIX tools like Perl or Bash or Corn
- Experience with Sybase or SQL Server is considered and asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to be calm under pressure and work on tight deadlines
