Our client is looking for Senior Financial Analyst to join their team for a one-year contract. This position is responsible for supporting financial accounting and reporting, internal control and compliance for Canadian and US entities. This role is ideal for a newly designated Chartered Accountant.
Responsibilities Include:
- Research and review new developments and pronouncements relating to accounting and regulatory environments
- Maintain current working knowledge of Canadian and US GAAP to develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Research new accounting topics and reporting requirements for disclosure and documentation of policies and procedures
- Prepare training sessions and memos to inform employees of significant accounting changes
- Provide technical expertise on IFRS to assist in the development and implementation of IFRS compliant accounting policies, procedures and disclosures
- Generate financial statements and supporting schedules
- Quarterly account reconciliation review and approval
Qualifications Include:
- CMA, CGA or CA designation with 5+ years of related experience in financial accounting and reporting
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and US GAAP, as well as IFRS
- Knowledge of the gas/pipeline business
- Experience with integrated financial systems an asset
- Able to research various accounting and industry information exceptional analytical, organizational and communication skills
