Database Administration and Engineering




This person will work closely with a highly skilled team of Systems Engineering professionals and application developers and will assume responsibility for providing and supporting a complex and high volume database environment.  The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similarly large scale environment and will demonstrate senior level expertise at the database engineering and administration level. 




Responsibilities:


·            Develop processes and procedures to support SQL databases


·            Store Procedures Scaling-Up


·            Work with developers across the organization to build requirements and     architect solutions to support business problems


·            Develop hardware and storage performance metrics


·            Participate in establishing project plans and estimating work


·            High Availability Database Design


·            Database security and capacity planning


·            T-SQL Data Management Replication


·            Data warehousing and security partitioning


·            Disaster recovery architecture and proprietary solutions


·            Clustering


·            Mirroring SSIS & SSRS


·            Daily database troubleshooting and user support


·            Work with internal users and developers to provide solutions for business requirements


·            Identify, diagnose and resolve performance issues to individual servers and databases.


·            Resources Utilization Management


·            Monitor DB availability and performance


Qualifications:




·            Minimum 10 years of experience with MS SQL


·            Minimum 10 years of experience with large (+1TB) & complex database environments


·            Architectural and hands on Engineering knowledge of MS SQL


·            Deep knowledge of both server and storage hardware (preferably HP and NetApp)


·            Proven record of building highly scalable and available application environment


·            Strong working knowledge in implementing and marinating monitoring tools (Embarcadero, SQL Sentry)


·            Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well through complex tasks


·            Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, while maintaining ownership


·            Proven troubleshooting and problem solving skills
