Position Purpose
As part of the Infoway Solutions Products and Services team, the Drug Subject Matter Expert (SME) is expected to take a lead role in the Drug Information Systems pan Canadian Standards domain. The SME may provide support throughout the SC standards lifecycle including development, implementation, maintenance, education and training, governance and certification of standards.
Major Responsibilities
- Provide Drug Information Systems business and standards expertise in support of Infoway projects and services (development, implementation, maintenance, education and training, governance and certification)
- Share expert Drug domain business experience and standards knowledge in support of Infoway projects and services
- Maintain Drug standards artifacts
- Lead standards maintenance in the Drug domain to ensure artifacts remain relevant both from a technical and a business perspective
- Perform model changes, business changes, and terminology changes
Provide support to pan-Canadian Standards Working Groups
Education
- Post secondary diploma or degree in laboratory medicine, business administration, health information or related field
- MBA or MSc is an asset
Qualifications
- Significant experience in standards development, maintenance and/or implementation for complex enterprise information systems in the healthcare industry
- Experience implementing and working with Drug standards and related terminologies
- Knowledge of Drug domain and HL7 v3
- Project Management and implementation experience within the Drug domain
- Knowledge of terminology, messaging and interoperability standards
- Communication skills to present standards concepts to various stakeholders
- Analytical skills to identify gaps and deficiencies and develop technical solutions
- Planning and organization skills to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Interpersonal skills to manage relationships
- Team skills to work collaboratively toward corporate goals
- Ability to travel moderately
- Fluency in French and English preferred
