The FN Health Society is seeking a Finance Manager for their office in West Vancouver, BC.
The Finance Manager reports to the Vice President, Finance and Administration. The primary responsibility of the Finance Manager is to maintain the day to day financial controls for the FN Health Society. This position will ensure that all finances are properly administered and monitored. The manager will apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports. The responsibilities and duties of this position include financial analysis and reporting in order to monitor finances associated with business operations. This role is also accountable for various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and analysis
The Finance Manager will lead in the preparation of budgets and provide variance analysis. This role will also support the FN Health Society program managers in managing, tracking, monitoring, and reporting financial data as required.
The supervisory responsibilities of the role include leading and developing the team by managing and reviewing the activity in the accounting area, ensuring internal control compliance and timely, accurate reporting.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
· Undergraduate degree in Business or Administration (or equivalent experience)
· An accounting designation (CMA, CA, CGA)
· 4-6 years of experience in Financial Management
· Comprehensive knowledge of and demonstrated experience with GAAP
· Experience in leading teams motivating and guiding others towards goal accomplishments
· Exceptional time management skills
· Superior analytical skills
· Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
· Excellent computer skills and able to demonstrate proficiency in accounting software (such as ACCPAC) and Microsoft Office Business Suite
· Excellent oral and written communications skills.
· Experience in the health field and/or working with First Nations would be an asset
· Experience in a not-for-profit corporation would be an asset
PERSONAL QUALITIES
Must have proven ability to multi-task, set priorities effectively, excellent attention to details and problem solve. Must have the ability to meet time sensitive deadlines and excellent organizational skills and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts. Must be a team player, be able to work independently and collaboratively.
