APPPLICATION DEVELOPER

Microsoft .Net with VB & C+

 

Our client requires the services of a .Net Application Developer.  This project involves the consolidation of multiple Microsoft Access files into a single Oracle database and creation of a front-end application to enable users to search for and reserve tag names to be used in new projects and then integrating the new application with the PCS Naming Standard.  Additional front-end development is required to implement changes to a consolidated PCS Historian and other duties revolving around these core requirements.  This is a contract role with an initial term of 6 months.  Possibility of extension beyond the initial term.

 

Candidate Qualifications Required:

 

(a) Experience:

1)  University degree in computer science or related discipline, and considerable years of 'progressively more responsible' experience working on large-scale information technology projects or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience

2)  Demonstrated experience in the development of client-server applications using Windows Forms .Net front-end and Oracle databases

3)  Demonstrated usage of SDLC methodology, standards and documentation

4)  Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting technical materials, including standards, procedures, and technical specifications to all levels of management and staff

5)  Performed this role on multiple (3-4) large projects with a track record of success

6)  Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), presentation skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities

 

(b) Technical Capabilities:

(i)  Minimum 4 years of Microsoft .Net Programming with VB and C# in Visual Studio 2005/2008 development environment.

(ii)  Minimum 4 years of Oracle PL/SQL programming.

(iii)  Minimum 2 years of Crystal Reports in Microsoft Visual Studio environment

(iv)  Must-have: Data analysis with SQL and data modeling.

(v)  Nice-to-have: Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence design and development.

(vi)  Nice-to-have: Familiar with SCADA iFIX and iHistorian.

(vii)  Nice-to-have: Web applications development with Microsoft .Net platform.

(viii)  Nice-to-have: Familiar with ColdFusion.

(ix)  Nice-to-have: Familiar with WebMethods or similar middleware technology

(x)  Nice-to-have: Oracle Application Express experience
