PROGRAM MANAGER - IT CLIENT SERVICES


 


Description: 


As an IT Program Manager within the Information Technology Branch you will have a challenging opportunity to participate in the development of the short and long term plans for the future state of IT in the City of Edmonton. This position is the senior most IT client interface within the assigned department, and is accountable for the delivery of end to end IT services within the client department. Your role will include:



  • Leading IT initiatives with a team of IT professionals to make appropriate recommendations and decisions to meet service level agreements for various projects for a specific client group

  • Implementing IT  plans for delivery of projects or services, including resources, budgeting, and evaluation of projects to manage and mitigate risk to the corporation

  • Identifying and achieving performance metrics in the IT Strategic plan and roadmap for the client department 

  • Participating as an active member of the Client Department Management Team 

  • Providing clients with strategic IT advice 

  • Identifying opportunities and threats that may impact client business operations by bringing forward thinking and awareness of the disaster recovery program

  • Evaluating work assignments to ensure alignment with employee competencies and development strategies

  • Acting as principle consultant within their area of responsibility regarding the identification, evaluation, implementation, maintenance and use of IT products and services 

  • Demonstrating subject matter expertise and broad knowledge in the assigned Program area

  • Providing expertise to other IT practices and programs, as well as client/business areas on technology and IT processes

  • Build, influence and foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, growth and improvement.


 


Job Requirements:



  • University degree or diploma in Computer Science or related field

  • A minimum of seven years experience in an IT environment in a broad range of technical, managerial and leadership roles

  • Experience in resource, budget management and project management

  • Demonstrated solid relationship building, negotiation and conflict management skills

  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal skills, and goal oriented

  • Positive, self-directed, and confidence to help achieve the corporations long term goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, influence and lead  high performing teams

  • Demonstrated strong problem solving skills and cross team collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of organization and quickly adapt to changing priorities

  • Proven track record of project completions, multi-tasking, and the ability to handle a high pressure environment with significant timeline pressures.


 


Hours of Work: Monday - Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program.


 


 


Salary Range: 91M Salary Grade: ML3, $83,682.890 - $119,548.360 (Annually).
