Scalar Managed Services - Job Description (NOC OPS)



The Scalar Decisions, Managed Services Organization is currently looking for NOC Operations individuals to join our dynamic team.



Primary responsibilities will include



. Interact with the Managed Services Group for continuous maintenance and monitoring of the managed service infrastructure.

. Create and update trouble tickets and perform escalations as required by the NOC procedures.

. Monitor infrastructure elements using monitoring tools such as Nagios.

. Respond to, prioritize, escalate and periodically resolve troubles reported by customers or management systems in a timely manner.

. Interface directly with customers and track interactions, progress and resolution via trouble ticket system.

. Maintain technical documentation for NOC processes and procedures.

. Respond to ad hoc requests for data by identifying the optimum source and method for obtaining the required data.

. Be available for rotating off-hours on-call duties and shifts.

. Perform other duties as required.



Requirements for this position are



. Windows Client/Server management experience.

. Knowledge and understanding of effective trouble ticket tracking system use

. Remote troubleshooting

. Monitoring Tools and concepts

. Excellent written and verbal/phone communication skills.

. Willing to learn and develop new skills.

. Ability to work on own initiative.

. Co-operate with other teams



Strong assets include



. IP/networking background

. Linux/Unix systems administrator background experience.

. Solid understanding Internet technologies and protocols (HTTP,FTP, SMTP, etc)
