Business Unit Description:
Technology: responsible for the delivery of technology in support of all CIBC businesses and customers. Directly aligns to CIBC's businesses, with a technology team for each business. Delivers world class solutions in support of business strategies, through a combination of in-house systems development and working with leading technology partners. This group also manages CIBC's core computing facilities, telecommunications and networks globally.

Wholesale Banking Technology: is a global and business-aligned team which contributes to enhanced business performance by meeting all the technology needs of the Wholesale Banking lines of businesses. The team of development and management professionals provides application development and enhancement services, as well as production support and strategic planning support on a global scale.

Job Overview:
PURPOSE OF JOB:

SUPPORT CLIENTS VISION AND STRATEGY BY PARTICIPATING IN CLIENT MEETINGS TO PROVIDE ADVICE AND CONSULTATION FOR BUSINESS APPLICATIONS DEVELOPMENTS TO ENSURE GROWTH.

In addition to working directly with other teams, this person will also work with other business partners to identify practical solutions through existing and/or new business systems technology, and will be responsible for the gathering and documentation of functional requirements

MAJOR ACTIVITIES:

PARTICIPATE IN CLIENT BUSINESS REVIEW SESSIONS TO INFLUENCE DECISIONS REGARDING USE OF TECHNOLOGY TO SUPPORT OBJECTIVES OR ADDRESS ISSUES.
FACILITATE BUSINESS PROCESS REVIEW SESSIONS AND HELP CLIENT GROUPS TO IMPLEMENT PROCESS CHANGES SUPPORTED BY TECHNOLOGY.
ENSURE CLIENT NEEDS ARE BEING SUPPORTED BY BUSINESS SYSTEM TEAMS, AND MONITOR CLIENT SATISFACTION LEVELS.

CONTACTS:

REGULAR CONTACT WITH PEERS AND SENIOR MANAGEMENT WITHIN BUSINESS UNIT, AND OCCASIONALLY WITH CIBC EXECUTIVES TO DISCUSS, INTERPRET AND PROVIDE OPINIONS RELATED TO THEIR AREA OF SPECIALIZATION.

JOB COMPLEXITIES/CHALLENGES:

INTERPRETING AND ANALYZING SENIOR MANAGEMENT COMMUNICATION NEEDS TO DEVELOP EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIES
ANALYZING PROJECT AND/OR TECHNICAL RISK, USING AVAILABLE INFORMATION TO SUPPORT BUSINESS RECOMMENDATIONS.
Analyzing and interpreting changes and trends in CIBC technology to determine their impact and assessing opportunities to support new business requirements.
PROVIDING ADVICE AND DIRECTION TO PROJECT TEAM AND BUSINESS/PROJECT SPONSOR REGARDING ALL ASPECTS OF TECHNOLOGY PLANNING AND PERFORMANCE.
JUDGEMENTS REGARDING THE VIABILITY OF A PROJECT BASED ON ABILITY TO DELIVER AGREED FUNCTIONALITY WITHIN APPROVED BUDGET AND SCHEDULE.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work or attend numerous meetings in a variety of office locations.
Must be able to meet the schedules of several concurrent project and priorities.
May be required to work outside of normal working days/hours.


Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Strong Knowledge of financial products such Fixed Income, Money Market, FX, derivatives.
Previous MIS and Capital Markets experience essential.
