Senior Financial Analyst, 1 position

Our company is looking to fill the following position to work out of our Financial Planning and Analysis department in the role of Senior Financial Analyst:



The responsibilities of this role are as follows:

• Provide sophisticated and diverse financial analysis and business decision-making support to the Financial Controller and other members of the Management Team.


• Prepare, develop, and analyze timely and accurate financial information to meet the needs of internal customers, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and disclosure requirements as per CICA and GAAP and to further ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.


• Analysis on historical demand and anticipated market changes, seasonality, trends, etc.


• Analysis on forecasts, lead-times, coverage targets, production, inventory, economic order quantities and all related reports.


• Analysis of pricing and contracts using financial models, analysis of sales and marketing expenditures, profitability analyses, cash flows, projections, and special projects.


• Review Operational Cost Analysis to ensure profit targets are achieved.


• Report on Key Performance Indicators and monitor progress against key objectives.  Investigate trends in cost or activity levels and develop action plans to improve productivity or reduce cost.


• Interact with key stakeholders to educate and promote a strong control environment for Financial reporting


• Other duties as required

 

Skills Required:

 

• Commerce/Business degree


• Working towards an accounting designation (CGA/CMA/CA)


• Minimum 3 years progressive work experience in Financial Planning and Analysis


• Advanced level PC skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access


• Advanced spreadsheet and modeling skills in the preparation and development of financial plans


• Ability to work independently and effectively


• Ability to provide insightful analysis and summarize key elements


• Strong project management skills with the ability to leverage resources (people, processes, departments, tools) to complete objectives effectively and efficiently
