BILINGUAL BOOKKEEPER




THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS OF EDUCATION, CANADA (CMEC), a national intergovernmental agency located in central Toronto, is recruiting for the following position.


BILINGUAL BOOKKEEPER

ADMINISTRATION AND COMMUNICATIONS UNIT


Full-time position

Current salary range: $48,687-$56,347 + full benefits package + pension arrangements

YOU MUST POSSESS

.     A command of English and French, both written and spoken

.     Minimum five years' experience in all aspects of bookkeeping

.     Experience in audit preparations

.     Experience in the financial budgetary process, including preparation of charts and reports, as well as report analysis

.     Minimum of two years' experience in payroll administration

.     Expertise with an accounting software package (currently using ACCPAC for Windows)

.     Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Word

.     Sound judgment

.     Ability to focus on detail and maintain a high degree of accuracy in all work

.     Highly developed problem-solving abilities

.     Well-developed organizational skills

.     Ability to work independently and in a team

.     Ability to follow established practices and procedures

.     Ability to handle pressure when dealing with deadlines or a heavy workload

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

.     Maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow

.     Prepare monthly financial statements

.     Prepare financial reports for various projects (special contributions, grants, and others)

.     Analyze and reconcile accounts and financial statements

.     Prepare documents for yearly external audit 

.     Prepare various charts and reports for budget documents

.     Generate biweekly computerized payroll (currently using ADP)

.     Assist in training of accounting staff members, as required

.     In supervisor's absence, take responsibility for day-to-day functions of the Financial Services Unit
