INVENTORY CONTROLLER




The Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining optimum level of inventory in warehouses according to product demand.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Close interface with Warehouse Manager in performing cycle counts and record adjustments

  • Monitor store sales requirements according to ad plans, in-store specials, and seasonal adjustments to ensure product availability

  • Manage purchase orders from creation to actual store delivery of products

  • Oversee overdue purchase orders and follow through as required

  • Liaise with buyers to determine appropriate stock levels

  • Monitor product expiry dates and ensure prompt action taken to ensure no expired products are left on shelves

  • Communicate with store managers regularly regarding new product introduction, damaged products, special orders


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • 3-5 years experience in an inventory controlling position (grocery distribution experience an asset)

  • Experience issuing purchase orders

  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office, specifically Excel and ACCESS

  • Supply Chain/Logistics training or work experience a definite asset

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high attention to detail

  • Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity and able to demonstrate sound work ethic
