Payroll Coordinator

Payroll Coordinator


 


In this role you will report to the Director Payroll/HRIS and be responsible for supporting the company's Payroll requirements. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:


 


§          Processing employee hours from a time and labor system (i.e Oracle)


§          Prepare remittances, tax filings, G/L payroll entries and other payroll requirements related to the payroll activities in Canada, US, and International sites as assigned


§          Data entry for all payroll data, change information, employee file data


§          Key liaison to HR staff and line managers regarding payroll questions and processing of all data changes as directed to support the company payroll and data record requirements


§          File personnel record data as required, maintain personnel files


§          Process new hires, terminations, Collective labour agreement  items and  changes to personnel files


§          Assist with the transition of MDS Inc to MDS Nordion in the area of Payroll


§          Assist with the design and implementation of effective and efficient Payroll systems and processes


§          Support project management requirements for critical path elements related to payroll as assigned


§          Support the interface data requirements for all direct payroll vendors in the delivery of tools and services that support the business requirements for the new Nordion group


 


 


Experience required:


§            College or University education in related discipline


§            Minimum of 5 years payroll experience


§          Experience with both domestic and international payroll practices is an asset


§          Familiarity with corporate reporting requirements in payroll remittances with foreign and domestic federal and provincial/state practices


§          Accounting experience or related education background is an asset


§          Exposure to publicly traded company


§          Excellent communication skills


§          Excellent business acumen and team orientation


§          Advanced data entry skills


§          Superb attention to detail


§          Financial and HR acumen to work with data requirements
