ACCOUNTING MANAGER/SUPERVISOR


 


The successful candidate for this position will possess:



  • A minimum of 5 years accounting experience

  • A strong knowledge of Excel and Access and proficient with all Microsoft Office applications

  • Current knowledge of accounting G.A.A.P. principles

  • The ability to work with, supervise and support an established A/P & A/R function

  • Strategic thinking skills with the ability to plan and organize with good time management, computer, oral and written skills

  • Industry specific experience coupled with a strong sense of urgency would be an asset

  • Completion of university degree in related field or completion or near completion of an accounting designation


 


This position requires the successful candidate to:

Responsibilities:



  • Build and lead an effective accounting team

  • Coordinate monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close

  • Coordinate year end review with outside accounting firm

  • Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and analysis of results

  • Accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenue and expenses for all departments and sales categories

  • Analysis and preparation of overhead reports

  • Analyze and advise on cash flow, billings, accounts receivable and payables daily banking and reconciliation

  • Maintain financial records in compliance with accepted policies and procedures

  • Provincial and Federal remittances and filings

  • Assist with governance of payroll functions

  • Actively participate in projects and ongoing process improvement provide research and recommendations on technical accounting issues


 


 


This position reports to the Controller
