Financial Accountant

 

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

                                               

A Cambridge-based manufacturer is seeking a motivated and energetic Financial Accountant who is organized detail orientated and possesses strong analytical skills. Reporting directly to the VP Finance, this position will assist in the daily, monthly and yearly accounting duties.

 

Accountabilitiess:

 

• Work on special projects and report preparation as requested


• Bank account and payroll reconciliations


• Fixed asset reconciliations


• Miscellaneous journal entry postings


• Monthly,  quarterly and year-end analysis


• Timely calculation and filing of various legislative returns (i.e. WSIB, EHT, GST, PST)


• Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and other asset and liability account journal postings and reconciliations

Qualifications:

 

Education

• Post-secondary education in business, accounting, or finance.


• Preference given to those who are enrolled in or who have completed the CMA or CGA program, although not mandatory

Experience

• A minimum of 3-5 years experience in an intermediate accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment with an ERP system.

Successful candidates must have:

• Self-motivation and ability to work with minimum supervision.


• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.


• Knowledge of Visual Manufacturing ERP software an asset.


• Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage a large number of tasks and responsibilities.


• Strong attention to detail and be results oriented.


• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced and growing environment.


• Effective, clear, and precise communication skills - written and verbal for interacting with staff, clients, and external contacts
