Intermediate Piping/Mech. Estimator




Position Summary


 


Work as part of a Pipe Fabrication/Module/Construction team at our Module Assembly and Fabrication Facilities in Edmonton.  Work within an established estimating framework of procedures and standards to produce estimates of the highest quality.


 


Core Responsibilities


 



  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs from design drawings (isometrics).

  • Organize and consolidate take-off data within in estimating framework (excel spreadsheets) for labour and costing

  • Evaluate tender packages for compliance to applicable codes and client design standards.

  • Identify exceptions and clarifications to technical scope of work within the tender documents

  • Roll-up of tender deliverables for subsequent Management review.

  • Prepare detailed material take-offs and requisitions for materials purchase

  • Work closely with fabrication and assembly teams to supplement and support all team activities as necessary.

  • Coordinate and expedite flow of information relating to technical scope of work during tendering process and project execution.


 


 


Qualifications


 



  • Strong understanding of pressure piping systems and commodities.

  • Strong organizational skills and with a willingness to multi-task.

  • A commitment to accuracy and attention to detail is a must.

  • An understanding of Pressure Piping Codes and Standards

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry and estimating profession.

  • Graduate of an engineering technology program would be an asset.
