Our client a progressive organization in the Hamilton area has an immediate requirement for a Mechanical Design Engineer.  You possess three to five years experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer role and thrive in an entrepreneurial work environment. 


Responsibilities:


Mechanical design specification, detailed mechanical design, stress analysis, component selection and sourcing, vendor liaison, configuration management, production troubleshooting and first unit testing. There will be opportunity for advancement commensurate with experience and track record of achievements. 


Requirements:


·         A strong background in design of camera sub-systems with an emphasis on aerospace applications.  Design tasks include product integration into aircraft environments and a variety of film studio equipment interfaces.


·         Experience/expertise with machine design and stress analysis disciplines with machine design and stress analysis disciplines.


·         Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in both single and multi component systems is a plus.


·         Must be proficient with SolidWorks Mechanical Design software.


·         Must be very familiar with product development environment (film and video products for aerospace applications) and be able to deliver finished designs that reflect years of experience and expertise in this field.


·         You will be eligible to meet the controller Goods Program requirements and be able to hold a Canadian Security Clearance.


Experience:


·         BASc in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)


·         3 - 5 + years relevant experience.
