Business Systems Consultant

Reporting to the Business Systems Planning Manager, you provide Business Systems Consulting services for new or modified complex and enterprise wide computer systems. Your demonstrated abilities will enable you to perform:
Core Analysis and Planning skills
· Determine system solutions for proposed new or modified large major complex or system wide systems
· Develop conceptual design alternatives, study plans and prepare system proposals
· Prepare business case justifications, gap analyses and prepare related recommendations
· Prepare system design specifications for new/modified large major complex and enterprise wide systems
· Identify new system development opportunities
· Assess and evaluate new or major modifications to package systems
Supporting skills
· Manage, monitor and control projects, progress and costs
· Develop Business Systems procedures, presentation techniques and methods
· Liaise/participate with System Developers in the implementation phases of new business systems
· Assist the manager in planning activities
· Develop and present formal training programs for new systems
· Review/test programs and results against design specifications
· Conduct post implementation reviews and performance verifications
· Assist users in resolving program and system malfunctions
· Knowledge of enterprise business applications (e.g. ERP)
Exhibiting a thorough and in-depth knowledge of system analysis, business improvement and business/best practices, you also have knowledge of:
· Program modification procedures and methods
· Large central server, network, PC based, and inter/intranet systems
· Mainframe and PC based operating systems

You have a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science and Business/ Commerce majors) university degree or equivalent plus completion of Business Systems Analysis courses and over five years of progressive experience as a Business Systems Consultant. Demonstrated knowledge of in-depth business analysis and/or systems analysis, integrated software package functionality and upgrades, detailed systems/specifications development, and project management of large complex business and enterprise wide analysis projects is required. In addition, you have a working knowledge of the suite of Common Desktop applications such as MS Office, MS Project, internet browsers and email systems.
