Data Integration Consultant- Permanent

Our valued client located in downtown Ottawa is seeking a full-time Data Integration Consultant to work with team members and clients to develop/design SAS applications. The client is a reputable organization and a leader in the field looking for an full time SAS expert to join their growing team and take them to the next level. Compensation for this position includes base salary and a competitive benefits package. Successful candidates must have 5 years of SAS programming experience and a entrepreneurial/client focused background/attitude. The selected candidate will have strong knowledge and experience in the following areas:

RESPONSIBILITIES





. Takes direction from senior technical staff on work products that need to be created

. Effective use of SAS tools and technologies in a customer setting

. Provides solutions to problems assigned by the technical lead on the project

. Works well with the project team to meet the project objectives

. Manages time effectively to deliver a quality work product as agreed with the technical lead on the project

. Performs quality testing of the work product developed

. Escalates technical issues with the team leader for solution

. Provides status on tasks assigned in the project to the technical lead and the project manager

. Ensure up-to-date knowledge in SAS and competitive solutions, through self-motivated approach to continuous learning

. Actively participates in SAS knowledge-sharing activities

. Ensures that programming complies with available standards of the organization

. Undertakes design of SAS applications as assigned by the technical lead

. Acts as a technical lead on smaller projects

. Coordinates development-level system testing and acceptance testing of applications and proposes design changes when applicable

. Designs and authors help screens, menus, indices to ensure ease-of-use and consistency

. Leads the technical design, programming and code documentation for applications

. Prepares Data Models as required for the application

. Prepares specification documents for other developers as required

. Documents project requirements according to a methodology

. Prepares other technical documents according to a methodology

. Mentors other consultants as required

. Provide presentations on project under development or projects completed

. Focuses on the development and enforcement of design standards for Consulting services applications





Requirements





. Strong working knowledge of data management tools.

. Strong working knowledge of industry standard third party tools such as schedulers, data modeling tools, and OS services

. Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence concepts, applications, and data structures

. Strong knowledge of data cleansing, matching and quality tools

. Ability to understand data management/data quality needs of the client and translate them into a technical solution using SAS tools and technologies

. Strong working knowledge of batch processing using Data Integration tools and ability to operationalize technical solutions

. Ability to design job streams and managing dependencies between job components

. Ability to design/develop reports and information portals for consumption by the user community

. Bachelor's degree - preferably in Engineering or Computer Science or a Masters degree in Statistics

. At least 5 years of work experience with BI tools and technologies of SAS or equivalent
